Joomla - Adding a downloadable document to a page

1. Open the page you want to add the download to.

2. Single left click the image or text you want to add the download to.

3. Click the 'Link to a document' icon on the top row of the editor. This is the 3rd icon on the right from the yellow smiley face which looks like a note page with a chain link on it.

Tip: Hover your mouse over each icon to see what they do.

3. On the next screen in the 'Upload a document' section in the top right corner, click the 'Browse' button and navigate and select the document you want to upload. Click 'Open' then click 'Upload File' button to upload this file from your PC to your Website.

4. A progress bar will now show the upload progress. When complete, the document will appear on the left hand side in the uploaded files section and a 'uploaded successfully' message should appear at the top of this screen.

Notes at this stage:
- there is a maximum file size so if your upload fails, it may be because it is too big. Please contact us if you encounter this problem.
- if you are uploading a document for your site visitors to download, there will be no preview on the right hand side (there will be for images though)
- the document information section on the right provides you with a direct link to the file for future use and reference
- the uploaded document should already be highlighted in blue ready for the next step
- check to be sure though.

5. Click ok to add the link.

6. You will now be returned to the page editor and you should go ahead and check to make sure this has worked correctly by using the preview tab at the bottom of the editor.

7. Save or Apply your changes to this page by clicking the appropriate Icon at the top right of the page.

Tip: Double check in the live website to make sure this has worked
